The architectural concept is based on the landscape and architectural qualities of the Torņakalns and the quarter of the Children’s Clinical University Hospital. The new language of architectural expression will provide a unified image of the building, emphasizing the two main entrances.
Large-scale sculptures in the hospital area will make it easier for visitors to find their way around and help small patients reduce their psycho-emotional distance during the treatment process.
In the longer term, the road infrastructure will be reorganised. The longer-term solution envisages the improvement of pedestrian traffic in the parts of the park and the forest park, thus, it will be possible to create three walking routes of different lengths – short, medium and long. All car parks are designed with the integration of environmentally friendly rainwater solutions, which will make them “green” and reduce the visual impact of cars.
